Rear seat removal

Whether during a detailing job, or when installing aftermarket stereo equipment, the rear seats sometimes have to be removed, here's how : The rear seat bench can be removed by pushing hard on the front of the seat towards the trunk, then lifting up. The seat hooks onto two clips in the floorpan of the car - the action of pushing back "unhooks" the seat.

The seatback has two brackets secured with bolts into the floorpan. Once these bolts are removed the seat lifts straight up off two hooks near the rear deck. Those hooks are a sometimes source of squeeks, so wrap them with a cloth-type electrical tape before re-installing the seat and you will do some preventative maintainance.
